Wiki

I am familiar with Wikipedia, having been introduced to it by my oldest daughter. It does supply a lot of information, but it must be taken carefully since it is given without tremendous verification, at times. It's not gospel.
I did check out the Book Lovers Wiki and enjoyed the book reviews. I like book reviews and read them every Sunday in the Dispatch and find them useful for locating new books to read. I think this could be very useful to a library, patrons contributing their views on books to share with others.

Zip Drive

I am an enthusiastic user of my zip drive. I keep my family history information on it to use when I am researching. My daughters showed me how to use it(typical) and I have glommed onto it happily. I'm even recommending it to people I work with at the Family History Center.

twitter

I signed up for Twitter today. I have put in several addresses and I am waiting to see if anyone replies. so much stuff, so little time...

Learn and Play #14

So I'm doing these out of order to catch up. I just finished #14, on Library 2.0. I have to remark that I think there are library personnel who do have 'technolust' and that the system shouldn't always have to accomodate primarily for those more technically experienced. They are the future, but the present is here, now and needs to be taken care of, as well. Technology is changing so fast and things are becoming obsolete in a frightening short period of time. Are we communicating more and not better?

James Griffin

This is my attempt to put a embed into this blog. This is a performance of James Griffin, who was in the group Bread, performing with Terry Sylvester and John Ford Coley. This was one of his last recorded performances before his death. I really liked him when I was a teenager so I'm including this in my post:

Hope it works!
