Recently, I checked into Delicious and I plan to make use of it for my genealogy work-it makes my special websites portable for research away from my home computer. Also, I checked Biblio.com. It is similar to Alibris, which I have used quite a bit to order books. The prices there were very good and I noticed that a portion of the profits goes towards literacy education. I don't know how often libraries order items that are out of print-its not in my job requirement, but if they do, this would be a great site.

Del-icio-us

This is an intreging idea. I think it basically is making it fluid, adaptable able to meet the needs that arise of those who use it. It involves not thinking of either system as concrete and solid but changeable. This is understandable because everything is evolving so quickly. I think there needs to be some controls set to avoid anarchy, which I'm sure some people would enjoy. Also, there has to be some way to verify what is true, such as in using Wikipedia. Someone needs to be in charge of the store, it can't live on its own. I just finished #14, on Library 2.0. I have to remark that I think there are library personnel who do have 'technolust' and that the system shouldn't always have to accomodate primarily for those more technically experienced. They are the future, but the present is here, now and needs to be taken care of, as well. Technology is changing so fast and things are becoming obsolete in a frightening short period of time.
